Port Everglades Cruise Parking: Garages, Rates & Cheaper Lots

If you're driving to Fort Lauderdale for your cruise, parking is one of those details that seems simple until you're circling the port with a car full of luggage and no idea which garage you're supposed to be in. Port Everglades is a big, busy port with a lot of terminals, and the parking is tied to your terminal number. Get that one detail right and the rest is easy.

Here's everything you need to know about parking at the port, what it costs, and the cheaper off-site options if you'd rather save some money on a long sailing.

The Quick Take
  • Find your terminal first: Your cruise documents list it, and it decides where you park.
  • Garages: Heron Garage serves Terminals 2 and 4. Palm Garage serves Terminals 19, 21, 25, 26, and 29.
  • Cost: On-port parking tops out at $25 a day for a standard vehicle. There are no reservations; it's first come, first served.
  • Save money: Off-site lots with shuttles can save you real money on a week-long cruise, but read the shuttle rules carefully.
  • Bring ID: Everyone 18 and older needs a government-issued photo ID at the port security checkpoint.

Know Your Terminal Before You Drive

Port Everglades has multiple cruise terminals spread out across the port, and each one has its own assigned parking. Your terminal number is on your cruise documents and in your cruise line's app. Look it up before you leave home, and put it in your GPS so you're not guessing at the security gate.

If you want the bigger picture on the port itself, including hotels, getting there from the airport, and what to do before you sail, my Port Everglades cruise port guide covers all of it.

Official Port Everglades Parking Garages and Lots

Here's how the official parking lines up with the terminals:

Parking Serves
Heron Garage Terminals 2 and 4
Palm Garage Terminals 19, 21, 25, 26, and 29
Lot A Terminals 19 and 26
Lot B Between Terminals 18 and 19
Lots C and D Terminal 18

Good to know: from the Heron Garage, Terminal 2 connects through an air-conditioned elevated walkway with moving sidewalks from the 5th floor, and Terminal 4 connects directly, with an elevator to the entrance. Terminal 29 doesn't have its own parking, so there's a shuttle from the Palm Garage.

Both garages have a 7 foot clearance, so if you're driving something tall, plan on a surface lot or call ahead.

Terminal 2 is officially listed as Princess territory, and Disney also uses it on certain Disney Dream sailings. If you're on one of those, you'll park in the Heron Garage. Disney notes the garage opens at 10:45 AM on those days, so don't plan on parking at the crack of dawn.

How Much Does Parking Cost at Port Everglades?

The official Port Everglades parking rate tops out at $25 a day for a standard vehicle. Shorter stays are charged in hourly tiers, but for a cruise you'll be paying the daily max. The clock starts when you pull your ticket.

On a 7-night cruise, that's roughly $175 to $200 depending on how the days fall, so it adds up fast. Oversize vehicles like RVs and trailers up to 24 feet are $35 per 24 hours, and those spaces are limited, so call the port's parking office at 954-468-3680 before you go.

A heads-up: a lot of cruise blogs still list $20 a day. The port's own site now shows $25, so budget for that.

How to Pay (and the Tip That Saves You Time)

You pay at the contactless machines on the first floor of the garages, with cash, credit, or debit. There's no prepaying online and no reservations. It's first come, first served.

The port suggests taking your parking ticket on the cruise with you so you can pay at the machine on your way back to your car. Put it somewhere you won't lose it, like with your passport in your stateroom safe.

If you have a Florida Toll Exemption Permit, a Disabled Veteran plate, or a vehicle modified for a disability, you may qualify for a fee waiver. Check with the port's parking office to confirm before you count on it.

Cheaper Off-Site Cruise Parking with a Shuttle

If $25 a day stings, off-site lots near the port and the airport can cut that cost a lot, especially on longer sailings. The tradeoff is time. You'll wait for a shuttle on the way in and on the way back.

A few popular options:

  • Park by the Ports in Dania Beach: one of the lower-priced lots. The shuttle is free for the first four passengers, with a fee for extras, and it runs on a set morning window on embarkation day. It doesn't take RVs, and it's cards only.
  • Park 'N Go on Eller Drive: very close to the port, with a free shuttle. Prepaying online is usually cheaper than paying at the lot.
  • Tropical Airport Parking: lots at several airport-area hotels. The price is low, but there's no shuttle to the port, so you'll need an Uber or Lyft, which eats into the savings.

Prices for these lots change often, so check the current rate when you book.

Park and Cruise Hotels Near Port Everglades

If you're flying in the day before or just want to start your vacation early, a park and cruise package lets you stay the night, leave your car for the week, and take a shuttle to the port. Hotels close to the port that cruisers often mention include the Renaissance Fort Lauderdale Marina Hotel and the Holiday Inn Express Fort Lauderdale Cruise Airport. Package terms vary by hotel and by season, so call the hotel directly and ask exactly what's included before you book.

What About Pier 66 Parking?

A lot of people search for “Pier 66 parking” when they're planning a Port Everglades cruise. Pier Sixty-Six is a resort and marina on SE 17th Street, about a mile from the cruise terminals, and it reopened in 2025 after a big redevelopment. It isn't official cruise parking, and it doesn't list a park and cruise package or a shuttle to the port. Its valet parking is priced for resort guests, not for a week-long cruise, so for most cruisers the port garages or an off-site lot make more sense.

Getting Into the Port: Security Checkpoints

Every entrance to Port Everglades has a security checkpoint. Anyone 18 or older needs to show a government-issued photo ID, cruise passengers need their cruise documents handy, and vehicles may be searched.

The checkpoint at Eller Drive off I-595 is open 24 hours. The other two, at State Road 84 and Spangler Boulevard and at SE 17th Street and Eisenhower Boulevard, are open 6 AM to 6 PM.

Rideshare and Drop-Off Instead of Parking

If you're only in town for the cruise, an Uber, Lyft, or taxi may be cheaper than a week of parking. On your way home, rideshare, taxis, and hotel shuttles pick up in designated areas outside each terminal. The port lists a taxi from the cruise port to the Fort Lauderdale airport at around $18 to $21, though that can change.
